This stunning August 2024 Pool of the Month winner, crafted by Loy’s Pools of Maryville, Tennessee, takes full advantage of its prime riverside setting. Perched just 150 feet from the Tennessee River, this masterpiece of pool design seamlessly blends luxury with natural beauty.

Engineering Excellence Meets Elegant Design

What immediately catches the eye is the thoughtful integration with the landscape. The pool, an elegant Eclipse 35 in Sapphire Blue was ingeniously raised nine feet off the ground to align with the home’s walkout basement, supported by an impressive retaining wall. This engineering feat wasn’t just about aesthetics – it was a practical solution to the property’s challenging steep elevation.

Illuminating Innovation

The attention to detail in this installation is remarkable. Thomas Loy, owner of Loy’s Pools, created a true symphony of light and design, incorporating over 50 color-changing light features throughout the project. These illumination elements are artfully placed in both the fence and pool, with additional lighting tucked beneath the spa’s capstone and coping, creating a mesmerizing display as day transitions to night.

Materials and Finishing Touches

The hardscaping choices are equally impressive, featuring Belgard pavers in a sophisticated three-piece pattern with consistent coloring. A graphite holland paver border, laid in traditional brick style, provides an elegant contrast around the pool’s perimeter. The round Calvi Spa, finished in matching Sapphire Blue, creates a perfect complement to the main pool, with stone veneer elements adding a touch of natural elegance to the overall design.

When a retired couple in Peterborough, Ontario envisioned transforming their spacious property into the ultimate family gathering spot, they turned to Bloom Field Pools to bring their dream to life. Perhaps the most striking feature of this installation is the custom pool house, which while not constructed by Bloom Field Pools, was carefully integrated into their overall design vision. This versatile structure houses a spacious living area, bathroom and loft, while cleverly concealing pool equipment. Its retractable screens and lift-up features blur the line between indoor and outdoor living.

The project particularly shone in its landscape design, an area where Bloom Field Pools’ roots as a garden center proved invaluable. “The client’s passion for horticulture allowed us to really bring the space to life with plants,” Mallette shared. This collaborative approach to the landscaping resulted in a lush, cohesive environment that enhances the pool’s natural appeal.
