Five years ago, our featured pool owners purchased a 60-year-old home with grand renovation dreams. What started as a comprehensive house renovation evolved into something truly extraordinary: a complete backyard transformation anchored by The Reflection 23’ by Leisure Pools in the captivating Sapphire Blue finish. The result is a space so inviting that vacations seem unnecessary when paradise exists in your own backyard.

This installation by Blue Orca Pools in Surrey, British Columbia, demonstrates the remarkable possibilities of modern pool technology. Maintained at a comfortable 86 degrees Fahrenheit throughout the year, this pool utilizes a sophisticated heating and cooling system that adapts to Canada’s diverse climate. During winter months, a substantial natural gas heater ensures comfortable swimming temperatures, while summer brings the innovation of a heat pump with chilling capabilities, which is a necessity in this particular microclimate where the pool would actually overheat without cooling assistance.

At the heart of this aquatic sanctuary sits the impressive Fastlane Pro swim current system. This remarkable system transforms the pool into a limitless swimming experience, operated via a waterproof wireless remote that floats conveniently beside swimmers. A digital display mounted near the swim machine allows for precise speed adjustments based on individual swimming pace, whether you’re channeling your inner Michael Phelps or enjoying a leisurely recreational swim.

Two bubblers grace the top steps at both the front and back of the pool, while illuminated laminars add an elegant touch to evening swims. After the tree’s careful removal 15 years ago, the current owners creatively filled the space with a palm tree, maintaining the unique architectural feature while adding their own tropical touch.

Set on a generous one-third acre lot, this backyard offers complete privacy from every angle.
