Why Leisure Pools Does Not Manufacture Or Sell Diving Pools
Having many years of experience in the design of residential pools gives us unique insights into what works and what does not. After all, that is our business to deliver best practice in residential pool design. None of the Leisure Pool’s Style are designed as diving pools and here are 3 very good reasons why:
Potential for Serious Accidents
In the USA, residential pools designed as a diving pool (i.e. with a diving board fitted) must at least 7’6” deep and meet certain minimum space measurements. This does not mean that the pools will be free from accidents and there have been many tragic cases from Diving Pool Accidents. In many cases it is not the homeowner’s families that are the accident victims, it is often guests who are unfamiliar with the pool.

Insurance Considerations
Given the risk, insurance companies are now moving to exclude coverage for Diving Pools and related risks. Check with your homeowners insurance to see if there are any limitations or exclusions regarding Diving Pools and or Diving Boards

Limited Use of Activity Space
Diving Pools by nature limit the use of available swimming space in the pool. Typically there is a small shallow section that leads to a steep drop off. This steep drop off plus the deep end of the pool is limited usable space as it is impossible to walk on or stand in. The pool therefore has only two sections, one that is too shallow to swim in and the other too deep to stand in. Many people who have owned Diving Pools in the past opt for the gradual slope pools for their next pool.
